Five Years. Five Celebrations.

Milestones reached and goals accomplished are all reasons to celebrate. I am a big fan of celebrating anything you want any day of the year, but sometimes it’s nice to go a little bigger to create longer lasting memories. And for us, that milestone was our five-year wedding anniversary.  I am somewhat of a traditional girl, but the idea of receiving the traditional or even the modern-day option of the five-year wedding gifts of wood or silverware I was not interested in. I accidentally came up with another great idea! Ladies, I know you’ll love it –

March 29, 2019 was our five-year wedding anniversary. And for the past year or so leading up to it we kept talking about what “big trip” we wanted to take to celebrate. The problem was we were trying to decide where to go anywhere in the world. That’s a lot of incredible options! We finally made our big celebration decision, but in the meantime, we celebrated with smaller trips and dinners… which led me to the perfect real, modern-day idea for a five-year wedding anniversary, five years means you get five celebrations over the course of that year!

A Journey through Napa via St Helena

A Taste of Napa!

As is well-known, the Napa Valley is home to some amazing wineries and having never been to Napa before I was very excited for this visit.  The reason for our trip was to assist and support the Waggin Trails Rescue Foundation (WTRF) at their annual Napa Valley fundraising party. And this year it was hosted at The Room at Flora Springs winery – which turned out to make the short list of my favorite wines on our trip.

Private Adventures at Trump National

I love Huntington Beach, but there’s just some days when you need to get away and explore. There are so many beautiful beaches all around here, it’s hard to not venture out.  Early sometime last year, my husband and I decided we wanted to go for a hike so we hopped in the car and turned to Yelp of all places to tell us where. We always wanted to visit the Trump National Golf Course and someone posted about hiking trails there so we went…

The Queen of the Desert

La Quinta Resort & Club, the Queen of the Desert

Palm Springs. Everyone loves the desert cities somewhere in between the middle of nowhere on the I-10 freeway connecting California and Arizona.  “Palm Springs” is the umbrella city for all the greats out there including Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Coachella and my favorite, La Quinta. It’s hard to exactly put a finger on why and what makes Palm Springs such a hot spot (pun intended). I may be biased because the only place I ever stay when in “Palm Springs” is the La Quinta Resort & Spa located in La Quinta.  This place is known as the “Queen of the Desert” and rightfully so…

You get what you pay for…at Mastro’s Ocean Club

I always say you get what you pay for… and Mastro’s is worth every penny.  From the drinks to dessert, everything is more than what you expect.  Especially at the Ocean Club in Malibu.

We recently took a trip up to Malibu just to visit the Mastro’s Ocean Club up there. We have been to Mastro’s restaurants many times, but none has the views quit like this one. So much so in fact, there was actually a line to get in! A line of people outside, waiting for the doors to open and get those first coveted seats at the bar.  Sure, I’ve seen lines at nightclubs and on tv during “black Friday,” but at a fine dining restaurant?  I was even more shocked to find out this is a normal occurrence. Luckily, we had reservations.  And after being told we had a 2.5 hour time limit to our meal because we had one of the perfect tables in thee house, we had a wonderful time.
